Today I figured out the publication date for the new release from Little Light Press, the Grumpy Monk. This is a very scientific process for those of you who don’t know much about the publishing business. The first thing I had to do was google special days in the month of March. I thought about March 1, which is a great day, because it is my birthday, but alas it is also National Pig Day. So I kept browsing and found March 26, which is National “Make Up Your Own Holiday” Day. Just what I needed! So March 26th it is, and now I am hereby declaring March 26th as the official publication date of the Grumpy Monk. I am also declaring March 26th as National Practice the Presence of God Day. So how about it everybody? Let’s think of some fun stuff to do on Practice the Presence of God day!
Brother Lawrence: The Grumpy Monk

Brother Lawrence is the main character in our new release, The Grumpy Monk. You may be familiar with Brother Lawrence’s Christian classic, The Practice of the Presence of God. Several years ago, I found the Practice of the Presence of God by Brother Lawrence on a bargain book table. I bought it and started re-reading it. As I pondered the truth in the ancient words of Brother Lawrence, I knew that I had to write a version for children. I did this, and then, as usual, I filed this manuscript in my drawer full of books that are in various stages of completion. (A book always has to simmer in that drawer and be re-written at least three or four times before anybody besides me reads it!)

Then, one day, I got an email from Agnieszka Korfanty. That is the subject of my next blog!
